Climate & WeatherEdit

HTY

Hatay has a Mediterranean climate which has very hot, long and dry summers with cool rainy winters. The high terrain west of the aerodrome creates cumuliform clouds through forced lifting.

What to expectEdit

ApproachEdit

  • The current FMS database coding contains some errors for the instrument approaches, check crossing altitudes and descent points with the charts and correct if necessary (i.e. VOR/DME 04 has three consecutive hard altitudes and an incorrect descent point, namely 14 DME instead of 12 DME).

DepartureEdit

  • Since all SIDs are altitude based, i.e. containing turns that are supposed to be started at specific altitudes they can be difficult if not impossible to fly as published in any high performance aircraft - since 2000 AGL for example are reached very quickly you will not have enough distance from the VOR at this point to make a turn back to the field.
